MindGames.world organizes regular online chess tournaments for students and players from different countries.

Participation Fee & Prize Policy

Participation Fee & Prize Policy

Some tournaments within the MindGames Saturday Series require a participation fee.

Entry Fee

€6 per player
(or equivalent in local currency if agreed in advance)

The participation fee helps support:

• tournament organization
• technical administration
• prize support (when applicable)
• development of the MindGames.world platform

MindGames tournaments are competitive chess events designed to provide players with tournament experience, fair play, and a friendly competitive atmosphere.

Prize Policy

If a prize fund is announced, prizes are distributed among top-performing players according to the tournament rules and fair play review.

Prize distribution may be adjusted or cancelled in case of fair play violations or rule breaches.

Participation fee can be sent via PayPal.

Participation is confirmed after payment verification.

If a tournament is marked as free, no entry fee is required.

2️⃣ Choose your tournament:

3️⃣ On the Lichess tournament page, click “JOIN TOURNAMENT”.

4️⃣ Participation Fee (selected events)

Some tournaments require a fixed participation fee of €4.

Payment can be made via PayPal:

In the PayPal message, please include:

  • Lichess username
  • Tournament name

5️⃣ Fair Play Policy

MindGames reserves the right to review fair play before prize distribution.

6️⃣ Registration Deadline

Registration closes every Friday at 23:59 CET.

🏆 Chess Tournament Rules

(MindGames.world)

1️⃣ General Information

Chess tournaments are held online.
The official playing platform is lichess.org.

Participation may be free or paid — this is clearly stated in each tournament announcement.


2️⃣ Registration

To participate, players must have a valid lichess.org account.

Registration is completed via a tournament link published on MindGames.world.

Each player may use only one account in a tournament.


3️⃣ Tournament Format

The tournament format (blitz, rapid, classical) is specified in the tournament description.

Time control is announced in advance (e.g., 5+0, 10+5, etc.).

The tournament system (Arena, Swiss, or Knockout) is stated separately for each event.


4️⃣ Game Rules

All games are played according to the official rules of Lichess.org.

Scoring system:

  • Win — 1 point
  • Draw — 0.5 points
  • Loss — 0 points

Late arrival, disconnection, or leaving a game may result in a loss.


5️⃣ Fair Play

Strictly prohibited:

  • Using chess engines, software, or external assistance
  • Playing from another person’s account
  • Collusion, match-fixing, or pre-arranged results

🔍 Lichess applies automatic fair-play detection.
Any violation may lead to immediate disqualification and exclusion from future tournaments.


6️⃣ Communication and Notifications

All official tournament information is published on MindGames.world.

Tournament participation is conducted via links to lichess.org.

Each player is responsible for joining the tournament on time.


7️⃣ Prizes (if applicable)

Prize details are stated in the tournament announcement.

Rewards are issued after final results verification.


8️⃣ Organizer Rights

The organizer reserves the right to:

  • Modify the schedule if necessary
  • Cancel a tournament due to force majeure
  • Disqualify players who violate the rules

Tournament results are published on our official social media channels.
